Westhill District ASC

My name is Sarah Laing, and I currently co-lead Entry Squad, where I coach our newest swimmers coming into the club. 

 

I’m an ex-Westhill swimmer who started helping with Silver Squad as a part of my DofE. This is where I really discovered my love for coaching. I now have almost 10 years of coaching experience and have been a qualified swimming teacher for 3 years. Outwith swimming, I am studying Primary Education at the University of Aberdeen, so my whole life really revolves around teaching. 

 

My coaching highlight is being able to work with our youngest swimmers to develop their confidence and skills. Providing them with the foundational skills they need for their first competitions and beyond in their swimming journey and wider life. 

 

My philosophy for coaching is focused on the individual athletes and what each of them needs to achieve their goals and reach their potential in swimming. I strongly believe in fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where every child feels safe and valued.
